The design of the charcuterie/cutting board was inspired by the Cutter Sailboat.
- Each piece of wood is hand selected. They are edged, planed and cut to size. We used mahogany, black walnut, hard maple, cherry, ash and wenge woods.
- The adhesive is food grade, waterproof glue.
- The boards are sanded and shaped. The the wood is washed to raise the grain. Then sanded again to completion.
- The next step is the branding and a light final sanding.
- Finally the boards are sealed with food grade beeswax and mineral oil- 2 coats. This is a 3 day process.
The boards should never be washed in a dishwasher. If the surface becomes a bit rough after washing then when dry just give it a light sanding with 220 sandpaper. Then apply food grade mineral oil , you can get the one with beeswax too.
