The C-20 Time and Temperature Control Box is designed to utilize BOTH the Time AND Temperature features. By utilizing both functions, you can save power by only having the De-Icer running while it is cold enough and in set time intervals. It is recommended to have the unit on in at least 2 hour intervals to set up a proper circulation.Each situation is different and the amount of time needed to maintain an ice free area will differ accordingly. Also, conditions do vary during the year so operation may have to be altered to fit the conditions. The timer pins should be pulled upward for the desired time frame the De-Icer should be set to run. The thermostat dial should be set to the outside temperature the De-Icer should operate. When, and only when, the temperature drops below the temperature the thermostat is set in a time frame that the timer is ON (pins pulled upward), the De-Icer will operate.
