The Rigging Shoppe Community Shows Its Strength

In preparation for the Toronto International Boat Show, the Rigging Shoppe packed two trucks with inventory and equipment on January 13, 2026. Overnight, both trucks were stolen. One was recovered the following day, but the incident created a significant challenge for the small Toronto rigging shop.
What followed, however, was a powerful reminder of the strength of the boating community.
Over the past weeks, customers, fellow boaters, and industry partners have reached out with messages of support, encouragement, and offers of help. The response has underscored something the Rigging Shoppe has always believed: the marine community looks after its own.
Serving sailors since 1969, the Rigging Shoppe has been part of the boating community for more than five decades—helping sailors prepare their boats, teaching essential skills, and sharing knowledge built over decades on the water.
While the situation has not been easy and the team is still digging out from this tough situation, the support from the community has made a real difference. The Rigging Shoppe team remains focused on what they do best: helping sailors get ready for the season ahead and keeping boats safely rigged for the water.
We are grateful for the support and proud to be part of such a strong and generous community.
